Home Loan Benefits for the Military
Home loan benefit is one of the many veterans benefits that Veterans Affairs offers. Nevertheless, not all service personnel are qualified for this benefit as they differ in their length of service.
Length of service is one basis to verify the eligibility of a military staff for a VA home loan. For service period during war time, the military should have a minimum of 90 days on active duty and have been released other than disreputable conditions. If the service is during the peace time, a service person should have at least 181 days of continuous active duty and have been discharged other than dishonorable situations. Other service periods and position of the military may be subject for VA's approval and examination.
The Celebration of Veterans Day
November 11 is the day that most nations commemorate Veterans' Day. Other countries such as the United Kingdom (UK) call this day Armistice Day or Remembrance Day, signifying the finish of WWI. In the United States, Veteran's Day is considered both a federal and a state holiday. It was proclaimed and signed into law by former US President, Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1954 to commemorate and give honor to the military servicemen and women who worked and risked their life for the country.
Individuals have their own ways of celebrating this holiday for the country's military personnel. Each state organizes different public affairs in remembering the country's soldiers like parades, giving credit and awards.
