Every last Monday of May, the entire United States is observing the Memorial Day. It was previously recognized as the Decoration Day wherein the citizens of America remember the military service personnel who died for the country. The very first Memorial Day was observed to acknowledge the Union military who gave their lives during the American Civil War. It was then magnified to include those service personnel who died in the time of their duty in various wars or military attack after the WWI. The nationwide remembrance occurs at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, Eastern Time. During this day, the public are going to the churchyards and memorials to contemplate and remember their soldiers. This is also an ideal time for family get together and sporting happenings as it was considered as the informal start of the summer season. Aside from that, many organizations are also organizing related programs where politicians and civic leaders are giving dialogues to the community. This year's Memorial Day falls on May 26. Even though there are several military sectors such as the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW) are fighting to fix its date on May 30, the observance will still go on this year. Different VIPs including election runners are anticipated to share their thinking and emotions for this day via their privilege dialogues and congregations. A request for a true and sincere observance of this day is resonating from deep within our hearts and most particularly from the loved ones of these heroes. Let us stop for a while and rekindle the moments of our brothers and sisters who have undoubtedly given their lives to make us live. Our veterans, although they have been unfettered from deaths during the time of their service must be also rendered with significance, care and love. Gone are the days of battle for them but the true battle to live are not yet over. Make this day not just for the dead who have been heroes for their loved ones and the United States but also a day for all of us who are hoping for a serene and worthwhile world.
